Boston Planners Dining Club X The Live Sketch Co

We recently had the pleasure of collaborating with Boston Planners Dining Club for one of their signature industry dinners, hosted at Sugar Factory Boston in their private event space. The evening brought together an inspiring group of wedding creatives from across the Boston area for an elevated, festive pink–themed dinner.

As part of the experience, The Live Sketch Co. was invited to provide ink and watercolor guest portraits for attendees throughout the evening. It was the perfect environment to showcase how live wedding guest portraits can elevate events beyond the traditional reception setting.

Our Portrait Station Setup for This Portsmouth Wedding

The Waterfront at the Elks sits along Sagamore Creek, giving our portrait station a serene and picturesque backdrop. The couple’s vision centered on connection, thoughtful details, and creating a meaningful experience for every guest. We designed personalized stationery featuring their wedding details for each portrait, adding a subtle, custom touch that made the keepsakes feel even more special. From the moment cocktail hour began, guests started stopping by—some curious, some excited, and many returning multiple times throughout the night to watch the illustrations unfold.

Fine-Art Wedding Portraits & the Guest Experience

Our portrait approach is always intentional: clean ink outlines, soft watercolor layers, expressive yet elegant features, and a refined palette. Each portrait is created individually, never rushed, and crafted as a keepsake guests will want to frame and keep. Throughout this Portsmouth, New Hampshire wedding, guests gathered around our live wedding portrait table to watch illustrations take shape. The portrait station became a natural point of connection, offering guests a meaningful, fine-art experience they’ll remember long after the wedding.
