The Portrait Experience

Why Our Wedding Guest Portraits Feel Different

Live wedding guest portraits should feel like an extension of your celebration — not a novelty add-on.

Our approach is rooted in formal illustration training and years of professional experience. Nate works full-time as a professional illustrator in graphic novels, television, and commercial productions, bringing industry-level skill to every portrait created at your wedding. Sunny’s background as a wedding photographer brings a deep understanding of the rhythm and flow of a wedding day, along with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring the guest experience feels smooth, intentional, and thoughtfully executed from start to finish.

This foundation allows us to focus on proportion, expression, and subtle detail — even within a live setting. Each portrait is intentionally composed in ink and watercolor, designed to feel refined and frame-worthy rather than fleeting.

By thoughtfully balancing live creation with studio finishing, we maintain consistency, detail, and overall cohesion. The result is artwork that feels personal, elevated, and seamlessly aligned with the tone of your celebration.

Each live wedding guest portrait blends gesture drawing with fashion illustration, capturing the presence and personality of your guests through fluid ink lines, soft watercolor washes, and delicately suggested features. Completed pieces are displayed throughout the evening for guests to pick up before they leave.

Studio Finishing and Delivery

The experience continues beyond the wedding day for both you and your guests. Any remaining portraits are completed in our studio with the same level of care and attention to detail.

How Live Wedding Guest Portraits Work as a Unique Wedding Favor

During cocktail hour and throughout the reception, guests visit our table for a quick reference photo and return to the celebration while we begin their portrait in ink and watercolor. Completed portraits are displayed during the evening for pickup. Remaining pieces are finished in our studio after the wedding to ensure consistency and refinement.

What is the Investment?

Investment for live wedding guest portraits begins at $2,500 and is tailored to your guest count, event length, and location. For larger celebrations (150+ guests), collections typically begin at $3,600.

How many guest portraits can you complete at my event?

Each live wedding guest portrait takes approximately 10 minutes to create, allowing us to capture around 50 guests during a standard five-hour event. Every portrait is intentionally composed and never rushed or formulaic, ensuring each guest receives artwork that feels personal and frame-worthy.

What happens to the guests portraits you don’t finish live?

All collections include studio finishing of any portraits not completed during the wedding. These pieces are carefully refined after the event and delivered in ready-to-mail envelopes, making them a seamless addition to your thank-you cards.

Can you create a portrait of us before the wedding to display on the day?

Absolutely! Many couples choose to have their custom portrait created in advance to display on their wedding day. Simply send us your reference photos, and we’ll craft an heirloom-quality illustration that beautifully reflects you both and the spirit of your celebration.
