The Process Behind Our Live Wedding Portrait Experience

With a thoughtfully designed setup, it’s an experience that feels special from start to finish. We create bespoke portraits of your guests in real time, offering both entertainment and a meaningful keepsake. It’s a seamless, personalized touch that delights your guests and leaves a lasting impression. Here’s how the process unfolds.

How it works

Step 1 - We arrive with brushes ready

We’ll set up a small, stylish station at your wedding or event. Guests can stop by anytime during the sketching window.

Step 2 - Guests stop by, we take a quick photo

When guests express interest, we take a quick reference photo so they can get back to enjoying the party. No sitting still required—they’ll love the easy, relaxed process.

Step 3 - We sketch throughout the event

Using those photos, we create hand-painted portraits on-site. Each one takes about 5–10 minutes. Most guests are drawn as couples, which helps us include more people.

Step 4 - Guests check back for their portraits

Finished sketches are displayed at our table for guests to pick up throughout the night. It’s always a fun surprise to see themselves captured in watercolor.

Step 5 - Some portraits may be finished after the event

Because each portrait is hand-painted and we love taking the time to connect with guests, we may not be able to finish every requested portrait on-site—especially at larger weddings. But don’t worry: we take reference photos and complete any remaining portraits in our studio, then mail them to you (or your guests) within a week.

Signature Sketch

Live Guest Portraits

Elegant, minimal, and full of character—our signature style is perfect for live guest portraits. These loose, expressive sketches feature simple facial features, fluid lines, and soft watercolor washes. Each portrait takes just 5–10 minutes and offers guests a stylish, editorial-inspired keepsake to take home.

Detailed Portrait

For Couples & VIPS

For a more refined, keepsake-quality illustration our detailed portraits include fuller facial features and added definition, while maintaining the same hand-drawn charm. These take 20–30 minutes to complete and are perfect for the couple, family members, or special VIPs.

Best reserved for a few featured portraits during the event, or as pre- or post-event commissions.
